Oral Surgery with Anesthesia in Orlando, Sanford, FL

Types of Anesthesia

LOCAL ANESTHESIA:

You will remain conscious, the area of surgery will be numb. There will be no pain or drowsiness.

NITROUS OXIDE-OXYGEN:

You will remain conscious, but be completely relaxed and have a floating sensation. The area of surgery will be numb so there is no pain. You will feel fuzzy for a short time right after the procedure.

INTRAVENOUS SEDATION:

You will be in a controlled state of unconsciousness. The area of surgery will be numb so there will be no pain. You will be drowsy and feel light headed right after the procedure.

Ice should be applied as soon as possible following the surgery 20 minutes on, 20 minutes off, for a minimum of 4 - 12 hours to reduce swelling.

During surgery, one or more of the following is used in controlling pain and anxiety: local anesthesia, nitrous oxide-oxygen and intravenous sedation. Most commonly, for the sedated patients, their feelings during surgery are surprisingly pleasant. For the patients requesting nitrous oxide-oxygen, their surgery is equally relaxing.
